Project overview
The gentlest headliner
Commissioned as the key art for a Hudson Valley river festival, the River Dragon had one job: look enormous on a poster and approachable on a toddler's t-shirt. She managed both, and the festival kept her for year two.
- Client: Riverside Summer Festival, 2025
- Deliverables: poster, banners, merch, wayfinding
- Status: available for licensing & commissions
Approach
Big, green, and smiling with teeth
Festival art must read from across a field. We built the dragon from one long readable curve, Merchandise tests followed: the design holds at banner scale and still charms at enamel-pin size — the true test of any beast.
Teal water, sandbank yellow, festival green: the palette doubled as the event's identity system, from wristbands to the main stage backdrop.
Results
Two festival seasons, a sell-out merch run, and a permanent riverside mural. The dragon now greets kayakers year-round, which was not in the brief but is the best part.
